Weak level with few opportunities
Bochum started confidently, Wolfsburg waiting: Anthony Losilla (4th) and Danilo Soares (20th) missed the first opportunities. After that, the guests stood better and approached the opponent’s housing for the first time with a long-range shot from Ridle Baku (26th).
Afterwards the already not very respectable game flattened completely. Both teams made too many bad passes, avoided the risk and remained alarmingly harmless in attack.
After the break, the wolves were initially a little more alert: Baku tried twice from a distance. Losilla had a good opportunity with a header for Bochum (48th). Then the game switched back to idle. It only got really dangerous again in the middle of the second half.
Pantovic with luck to the leadership
To be more precise, in the 65th minute: The guests lost the ball in the build-up, Holtmann crossed and Maxence Lacroix headed in the middle when trying to clear Pantovic. From there the ball landed in the net – tour Bochum.
The wolves then pushed Bochum in behind with a lot of possession, but were completely harmless in the front. Bochum could have extended the lead on various counter-attack opportunities, but just missed the 2-0 win in injury time through Eduard Löwen.
