Botafogo, second in the classification table, missed this Thursday the possibility of resuming the leadership of the Brazilian league after its away draw, 2-2, against Fortaleza, in a match pending in the tournament. The Rio team, led by coach Tiago Nunes, is now with 61 points, one less than the leader Palmeiras, while Fortaleza, led by Argentine coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda, is in the middle of the table with 44.

Yago Pikachu opened the scoring for the local team, an own goal by Argentine defender Emanuel Brítez tied the actions, Galhardo scored again for Fortaleza and Danilo Barbosa sealed the final 2-2.

Botafogo was at the forefront of the tournament for 31 rounds, but in the last few rounds it gave up the twelve-point lead it once had, allowing Palmeiras to overtake it and Bragantino, Grêmio, Atlético Mineiro and Flamengo to close the gap as well.

At the second hour of Thursday, in another pending match with which the Brazilian league calendar was updated, Flamengonow third with 60 points, won with a goal from Uruguayan Giorgian De Arrascaeta (1-0) to Bragantinofifth with 59.
