Football – 3rd league: Markus start coaches at Dynamo Dresden

Status: 06/10/2022 2:57 p.m

Trainer Markus Anfang from Dynamo Dresden is still not vaccinated against Corona and has now been infected twice with the virus.

“I survived it well, I’m fine”, said the 47-year-old when he was presented as the new coach of the third division soccer team. When asked, he explained that his vaccination status had not changed. “I think it’s absolutely fine if you get vaccinated and have the protection. If you have a risk, you just want it clarified. Nobody can take my fears away and give me the security that nothing will happen to me .”

Beginning reported, among other things, that his aunt died of a heart attack after being vaccinated. “A lot of things happened that just created a certain fear in you”he said.

Resignation in Bremen

Beginning resigned as coach of the then second division club Werder Bremen in November after the public prosecutor’s office had initiated investigations into him for using a fake vaccination card. “Unfortunately, the mistake belongs to me, I can’t undo it. I brought it on myself and I don’t blame anyone else for it,” said Beginning and added: “I apologized to the people I disappointed. That’s all I can do. And I can’t expect people to forgive me.”

Dynamo’s sports director Ralf Becker emphasized: “The mistake was how we dealt with the matter. We have to say: that was wrong, but then we also have to say: that’s good now. We’ll get through it together, I have confidence in him as a coach and as a person.”

Dynamo signed early as Guerino Capretti’s successor. Beginning with the Saxons received a contract until June 30, 2024, which applies to all leagues. The Bremen District Court had sentenced Beginning to a fine totaling 36,000 euros, the sports court of the German Football Association banned him as a coach for a year and is suspending this sentence on probation from this Friday.
