Resignation in Bremen
Beginning resigned as coach of the then second division club Werder Bremen in November after the public prosecutor’s office had initiated investigations into him for using a fake vaccination card. “Unfortunately, the mistake belongs to me, I can’t undo it. I brought it on myself and I don’t blame anyone else for it,” said Beginning and added: “I apologized to the people I disappointed. That’s all I can do. And I can’t expect people to forgive me.”
Dynamo’s sports director Ralf Becker emphasized: “The mistake was how we dealt with the matter. We have to say: that was wrong, but then we also have to say: that’s good now. We’ll get through it together, I have confidence in him as a coach and as a person.”
