A lot of time has passed since the supporters of SG Dynamo Dresden were able to celebrate a victory in their home Rudolf Harbig Stadium. With a 2-0 win against SC Verl, the black series is over after more than eight months. Even though Dynamo benefited greatly from a red card in the game, coach Markus Start’s team is on course in terms of points.
After more than eight months, SG Dynamo Dresden has once again won a game at their home Rudolf Harbig Stadium. Against SC Verl, the team of SGD coach Markus Anfang came to a 2-0 (1-0) win on Wednesday (10 August) in front of 22,399 spectators. The Saxons benefited from a red card for Sportclub midfielder Vinko Sapina in the 34th minute against tough guests. Until then, Verl proved to be an equal opponent, who also checked the crossbar once through captain Mael Corbez (27th). Dynamo was then able to exploit the majority several times and made it 2-0 with goals from Ahmed Arslan and Claudio Kammerknecht.
Markus Beginning and his team were able to celebrate their second win in a row.
Dresden benefits from a red card
After the 2-0 win over Halleschen FC last weekend, coach Markus Anfang changed his starting line-up from two positions. Patrick Weihrauch replaced Julius Kade (hard thigh) and Stefan Kutschke started for Manuel Schäffler (bench). An open game developed in the early minutes. Verl’s Corboz (27th) almost gave the guests the lead. However, his long-range shot landed on the crossbar. Despite the red card for Sapina and Arslan’s lead, Dresden couldn’t be satisfied with the first half.
In the 34th minute Vinko Sapina saw the red card after a rough foul on Tim Knipping.
Tough fight rewarded with 2:0
Sports director Ralf Becker admitted at half-time: “We imagined it differently.” That’s why it got loud in the cabin. But even after the change of sides, Dresden’s personal superiority was not reflected for a long time. Verl tried again and again to set needles and kept the Dresdeners busy for long stretches. On the offensive, the early team often lacked precision. Only the late 2:0 by Kammerknecht ensured the decision and relief for the SGD fans.
Ahmet Arslan and Claudio Kammerknecht were able to put themselves on the top scorer list today.
