The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has warned this Saturday of the presence of listeria in packaged sausages from Italy. The affected products are of the wuddy brandof IAA manufacturerY Hot dog of Turkey.
The agency recommends that people who have the products included in this alert at home refrain from consuming them and return them to the point of purchase.

Listeriosis is a serious infection usually caused by the consumption of food contaminated with the bacteria ‘Listeria monocytogenes’. It is estimated that 1,600 people contract listeriosis each year in Spain and that approximately 260 die from the disease, according to data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The infection is more likely to make pregnant women and their newborns, adults 65 years of age or older, and people with weakened immune systems more likely to get sick.
This alert has been notified within the framework of a listeriosis outbreak in Italy. However, the AESAN has indicated that there is no evidence in Spain of no case reported or associated with this alert.
