The Parisian private museum Fondation Louis Vuitton will offer insights into the collaboration between graffiti pioneer Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol with a new exhibition. Between 1984 and 1985, Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) and Andy Warhol (1928-1987) created around 160 canvases together – 80 of them will be on display at the Kunststiftung from April 5th. This collaboration is one of the most important of the 20th century, said co-curator Dieter Buchhart in Paris on Tuesday. Her works had never been shown to this extent, the Austrian explained.
The total of 300 exhibits and documents also include individual works by the two artists. The exhibition “Basquiat x Warhol. Painting 4 hands” should last until August 28th. (dpa)
