There, supporters of both clubs unfurled banners with texts, addressed to the opposing team. The FC Utrecht supporters were the first to come with cloths that read ‘Info PSVwe call the police, Cancer PSV’. That probably refers back to the fight that fans of the hard core had arranged with each other on Saturday evening in Best.

The police knew of the intention to fight and kept an eye on both hard cores on Saturday. As a result, she found FC Utrecht supporters who were standing in a parking lot near Best with a number of cars. 47 hooligans were arrested. A large number of weapons and fireworks were also seized.

FC Utrecht supporters reacted incensed to the police action on Sunday afternoon with the banner in the stadium, which they blame the Eindhoven fans. A number of PSV supporters did not let that sit on them and responded by making a new banner on the spot. A kind of wall was made, so that nobody could reach it when the text was sprayed on the canvas. It read: ‘Let your fists speak, not cloths. See you soon!’

The match was won 6-1 by PSV on Sunday afternoon.
