Flyer in the Bijlmer for the murdered Rosleny in 2016: ‘Don’t leave us with questions if you have the answers’

Shulesca de la Croes wants to know who killed her niece almost six years ago. Rosleny Magdalena, 28, was shot dead on the morning of November 17, 2016 in Amsterdam-Zuidoost after taking her daughter to school. Shulesca is sure that there are people walking around in the Bijlmer with answers. Through a flyer she calls on those people to finally open their mouths after six years.

Shulesca has had about 2000 flyers printed. Featuring a photo of her murdered cousin Rosleny and the caption: ‘Don’t leave us with questions when you have the answers. Help us close this chapter!’

The pain of Rosleny’s death is still deep within Shulesca. The anger too. “Enough is enough. People have to start talking. Her daughter is now 12 years old. She asks so many questions. And we as a family cannot rest until it is solved.”

At the beginning of this year, a 29-year-old woman was arrested for the first time in the murder case. Although she is late released, she remains a suspect in the investigation. “But without tips, without hard evidence, you really don’t get there,” Shulesca says. Only in the Bijlmer the lips are tight. “People just don’t talk here. The Bijlmer is just the problem.”

Shulesca and the rest of the family were previously assisted by crime reporter Peter R. de Vries. After the murder of De Vries, his son Royce got involved in the case interfere in. And he has urged Shulesca to continue drawing attention to the case. And that is exactly what Shulesca is doing today. “I’m not giving up. Then flyer and hope this works. If not, I’ll continue.”
