Flowers and candles at the house of deceased family in Raamsdonksveer

Flowers and candles were placed this weekend in front of the house of the family that died in an accident on the A59 near Sprang-Capelle on Friday. It is a sign of sympathy that the residents of Raamsdonksveer give. The village is deeply mourning the death of the father and mother (46), son (13) and daughter (10) who had a strong bond with Raamsdonksveer.

In addition to the tribute to home, in ‘t Faanteland, as Raamsdonksveer is called during carnival, many flags of the Carnival Organization Raamsdonksveer hang at half-mast. The father was a member of the council of eleven and one of the children was on the youth council.

Mourning meetings
Bereavement meetings were held this weekend at the schools the children went to. For example, teachers from De Ruif child center gathered on Saturday to share their grief over the loss of their 10-year-old student. At the Dongemond College, where the 13-year-old son of the family was educated, a mourning meeting was held on Sunday for students, parents and teachers.

Mayor
The loss of the family cuts through the entire community of Raamsdonkveer. Mayor Marian Witte expresses the sad feelings in the village on the website of the municipality. “We are shocked and saddened.
