The floral tradition of Sanremo is even older than the famous Festival: in fact it dates back to 1874 the birth of the first floral export realitywhile the first flower market was born in 1914. The Ligurian city is mainly known for its luxuriant cultivation of carnations, roses and peonies. But also for the numerous varieties of exotic and tropical plants which, thanks to the favorable climatic conditions, grow luxuriantly and are now an integral part of city gardens and monuments.
