Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek made statements on the agenda on the club television. Speaking about the economic projects, the general situation of the team and the transfer, Özbek made important statements.

Our aim in organizing this meeting is to tell our fans about our financial projects and where we are in terms of sports. Mecidiyeköy Building came to the fore during the late Duygun Yarsuvat period. He gave me the authority then. He asked me to run the place. We have completed the construction with the rough finished. After that, it never came up. We want to develop this property.
I was trying to develop this place before I became president. Today, we are developing it with the contributions of my brother Erden. We will turn Mecidiyeköy into residence apartments. I invite our members to buy an apartment here. We also opened a tender for sales to foreigners. We agreed with a company in this tender. We are about to make an agreement with the company that won the tender. We will not sell the shops on the ground floor of the Mecidiyeköy Building. We expect a fund of close to 1 billion TL from the sale of 160 flats.
“WE HAVE OBLIGATIONS”
It is Galatasaray’s need to utilize the 1 billion TL that will come from Mecidiyeköy through various forms of finance. As you know, we have obligations with the Banks Association to close the loans of Galatasaray. Half of this money will go towards closing a part of the 2 billion 200 TL principal account of the loan at the Banks Association. The other half will go into the vault to support Galatasaray’s activities in Kemerburgaz and Florya.
We obtained the title deed of the parcels belonging to the treasury on Galatasaray Island for 30 years. These title deeds are the title deeds of the right of use. After you get these titles, you will have the chance to develop a project on the island. Many of my friends have contributed to the opening of Galatasaray Island to the service of its members. We promised that we would cover the island’s current state from the budget of the board of directors. Our members spend time here with their families and children.
There is something missing in Galatasaray; climate of love. Let’s create this climate of love. Reconciliation is missing in Galatasaray, let’s create it. We emphasized the need to come together and be together. The island is an important factor that serves this purpose.
“THEY WILL ALLOCATE US”
We received the 30-year title deed of the land in Kemerburgaz. When you get this deed, you can make a project. We took out the zoning situation. Our projects that we planned to implement in the previous presidency were ready. We started our construction activities. We consider the construction in two phases. We have two main campuses. We have a team building and academy building. The total area of these two parts is 102 acres. There is a forest land in the middle. We have applied for it, they will allocate it to us.
In the first phase, we have a plan to build a team building and open it immediately with a few fields. The reason for this is: In order to carry out the project in Florya, we need to displace the team from there. This will give us an advantage both in terms of the timing of the financial burden. Next season, we would like to recruit the A-Team to our new facilities to be built in Kemerburgaz in a short time. We have no time to lose.
“A PART IN FLORYA IS THE OWNERSHIP OF GALATASARAY”
A part of Florya is the title deed property of Galatasaray. Some of them are registered property of Emlak Konut. As of today, in the negotiations we have made, we have an agreement to sell the part of Emlak Konut that is in their own title deeds. We have meetings with my esteemed Minister Murat Kurum and our Honorable President. A consensus was reached for the sale of this place to Galatasaray and for the entire Galatasaray club to start construction activities here.
“IN ALL TURKEY, NOT JUST IN ISTANBUL”
When the fund from Mecidiyeköy, the fund from Riva and the fund from Florya are put on top of each other, a large number emerges. The first place this figure will go is to close the principal of the loan in the Banks Association. It should be liquidated immediately. We pay 1.2 million TL of interest per day. About 400 million lira per year. A club that pays 400 million TL interest cannot achieve sustainable sporting success. We have projects to bring new lands to Galatasaray. Just as Riva has been our hope for years, there are shares to be allocated from the fund we will create to bring new Rivas to Galatasaray. Not only in Istanbul, but all over Turkey.
“LEADING CLUB IS GALATASARAY”
Galatasaray is a big sports club. You should not miss this, the club that pioneered the arrival of Olympic sports in Turkey is Galatasaray. It has been instrumental in making these sports popular in this country.

As I always say, the face of the Republic is Galatasaray. Our goal in the 100th year is the championship. It is a very important period for us.
