Florence Pugh defends herself against Shitstorm

“Black Widow” actress Florence Pugh gave deep insights at the Valentino Haute Couture Show in Rome: Pugh attended the fashion show in a long, transparent, pink tulle dress. The thin fabric not only showed a clear view of her breasts, but also led to a huge shitstorm.

Florence Pugh on “vulgar” men

She solved with one Instagram post, in which she showed herself in this revealing outfit, immediately caused a shitstorm wave. Pugh expected comments, she writes, but not to this extent. While many of the fans loved her look, others criticized the sight of her exposed nipples. She was particularly negatively surprised by comments from men, because with their comments they would “completely destroy a woman’s body, publicly and with pride”. On her Instagram account, she defends herself: “It’s not the first time and certainly won’t be the last time that a woman has heard from a crowd of strangers what’s wrong with her body. What’s disturbing is how vulgar some of you men can be.”

“Why are you so scared of boobs?”

Florence Pugh makes it clear that she is conscious of her body. She does not leave the allegations uncommented and continues to express her anger at the behavior towards her: “So many of you wanted to tell me aggressively how disappointed you were with my ‘tiny tits’ or that I should be ashamed because I was so ‘flat-chested ‘ am. I have lived in my body for a long time. I am fully aware of my breast size and not afraid of it. What worries me even more is… Why are you so scared of boobs? Small? Big? Left? To the right? Just one? Maybe none? What. Is. So terrible”.

“Respect people”

Florence Pugh has over seven million followers on Instagram. She advises them: “Grow up. Respects people. Respects body. Respects all women. Respect the people”. The disappointment cannot be ignored in her statement. She ends her plea with the hashtag “f**kingfreethef**kingnipple,” alluding to Instagram’s ban on posting photos of female nipples. The emotional Instagram statement was received with great understanding by fans and celebrities. They responded with messages of support and motivation.

Actress Joey King, who starred in all three of The Kissing Booth and crime series The Act, wrote: “You really are so amazing. You have put into words what so many feel but cannot articulate”. TV star Jameela Jamil also commented with a lot of empathy: “You are a magical f**king queen and we don’t deserve you”.
