Floorball player Krister Savonen ends his career.

Krister Savonen, one of the regular faces of the Tampere Classic and the Finnish floorball team, will end his career as a player. The player reported this on their Instagram account.

The club Classic, represented by Savonen, 27, won the Finnish championship.

– Yesterday a great decision was made for the season when Family managed to elevate the Finnish Championship. At the same time, my own floorball end. The matter is still difficult for itself to accept, but still the only right decision. There are still blood challenges in everyday life, there is no other option, Savonen wrote in his publication.

In his release, the two-time world champion thanked all the people who have been involved in his journey.

Savonen suffered a concussion in September when he hit his head badly against a concrete wall in an F-League match against Oilers. He was taken to the hospital after the spurt.

Savonen said he would end his term in December. At the time, she said she was suffering from depression and anxiety and panic attacks.

He said he had had a fifth and sixth concussion during the year.

– I have had problems with memory, concentration, balance and eye movements, Savonen said at the time.

Savonen also had to miss the December World Cup in Helsinki.

Savonen won five Finnish championships in his career. He played in Classic during his league career. He won World Cup gold in the Finnish shirt in 2016 and 2018.
