D66 keeps people busy. Many people find it hypocritical that party leader Sigrid Kaag claims to be the figurehead of moral leadership, while she is hiding a report on a MeToo issue from the party. RTL Nieuws reporter Floor Bremer calls party chairman Jan Paternotte on the mat and goes wild.
Floor goes wild
Floor thinks it is ridiculous that the D66 party board will only issue a statement on Friday now that the Volkskrant has discovered the one-year-old report. When asked, Jan explains to her that it simply takes time to make a ‘new weighting’.
The RTL Nieuws star journalist then shows her teeth: “That makes no sense. That thing has been there for a year. Then you don’t start thinking after a year, because de Volkskrant writes about it: we are going to make a new weighting? Isn’t that weak management?
“This is weak!”
Jan stammering: “Of course I never saw that confidential contribution myself.”
Floor: “Yes, but you belong to that party, don’t you? Then you say: ‘What is the point of waiting until Friday to make a new weighting on a report that has been there for a year?’”
Jan: “Ehhh, the report came out last year. An external research agency did that because there was an anonymous blog…”
Floor: “Yes, I know where it comes from, but isn’t it lame that they are now going to wait another week?”

Floor: “But you don’t answer it, you start about a blog from a year ago.”
Jan: “Yes, because I think it is very important that we take this very seriously.”
