“Never before have we been confronted with such a mass of water at that location,” it said. At the end of last week, a pump truck was used to pump up a total of 600 cubic meters of water, but that did not produce any results, so the road remained closed this weekend.
Since Monday morning, five pump trucks have been at work that would normally have to pump out and discharge 600 cubic meters of water per hour via the Dorpszwijn watercourse. “Due to the persistent rain, it remains to be seen what result we will achieve with pumping out.”
As long as the road is not clear, traffic must detour via the Driftweg (N317). In the meantime, the Agency will work with the municipality and the Nature and Forest Agency to find a solution to avoid the problem in the future.
