Flooding caused by rain showers in various places in Drenthe

Rain showers have caused flooding in various places in Drenthe. In Hollandscheveld, Beilen and Elim, among others, streets were flooded.

Due to the showers, the KNMI issued code yellow for Drenthe. That code also applied to Friesland, Groningen, Flevoland, Gelderland and Overijssel. According to the KNMI, local hail was possible and very local precipitation could also lead to nuisance. The code was withdrawn for Drenthe around 9 p.m.

The Northern Netherlands Control Room receives many reports of flooding. The fire brigade requests that 112 be called only in life-threatening situations.
