At Eindhoven Airport, a steward of an incoming flight was fined 1,000 euros on Sunday morning because he had been drinking. The man was caught during an alcohol check by the aviation control team of the police.
The man, a steward of a foreign airline, had 0.32 promille in his exhaled air, where 0.2 is allowed. It means he boarded the plane under the influence. Flight attendants are not allowed to drink alcohol ten hours prior to a flight.
A total of 123 alcohol checks were carried out among cabin and flight crew on Sunday. As far as is known, the steward was the only one who was fined. The Aviation Supervision team regularly conducts these types of checks.
