Munich (AP) – National coach Hansi Flick has praised the performance improvement and the willingness to learn from national soccer player Leroy Sané from FC Bayern Munich.
“The way he is present in the game now, absolutely focused on what’s coming, on the next action, he needed a little rethinking for that,” said Flick in an interview with the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung”. The ease of movement of the 25-year-old has “always been impressive,” said the former Bayern coach. “But when I see now: he loses the ball and immediately goes after it – that’s what we expect and also what the fans ask of him.”
Flick stated that Sané was performing well both with the German national team and with the record champions from Munich. It is “important that the player knows what the coaching team thinks about him. Our picture matches that of Julian Nagelsmann,” said the 56-year-old. “I think many people have contributed to its development – most notably Leroy himself.”
