The German rapper wanted to show solidarity, but within minutes homophobic and insulting comments under the photo piled up.
Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a sign of solidarity and equality quickly became the target of hate attacks: On Sunday, German rapper Fler shared a photo with Hamburg drag queen Olivia Jones on Instagram – and within minutes homophobic, discriminatory and insulting comments piled up under the Picture.
The rapper, who in the past had often attracted attention with homophobic and mysogynous statements in his songs, made a surprisingly clear statement: “It’s bad to see how people go off here. Fuck anyone who can’t just respect the human being!” He added: “It doesn’t matter if you’re foreigner, German, gay or lesbian or whatever (…) you are (…) all the same for me. Human is human!”
Shocked by the anti-LGBTQI+ comments, Olivia Jones wrote in a comment below the photo: “One more question for all you self-proclaimed super ‘men’ out there: What do you think requires more man and courage? More balls and brains? Always saying what your own flock wants to hear? Or would you like to say something against it?”
At the end of her statement, she addressed the rapper directly and said: “Fler, take the Shitstorm as tailwind. Better an ass in your pants than an ass open. I say ma: Big respect from St. Pauli, Digga, from the whole Olivia Jones Family for this move. It’s nice that it’s getting even more colorful in German rap now. That’s why you’re willing to risk a couple of brown bangers and gay bangers as followers, right?”
