Fler admits in court that he attacked a cameraman

In a court hearing on Wednesday, the rapper Fler confirmed the allegations that he had attacked a cameraman. The rapper was charged and ordered to appear in court back in February 2020, but the trial has since been postponed for various reasons. He was originally accused of insulting a woman on Instagram, but then attacked a camera crew. Both charges are now being dealt with in one trial.

The trial of Patrick Losensky, as the rapper’s real name is, begins on November 16 on the following charges: suspected assault, threats, insults and property damage. First, Losensky insulted a woman on Instagram because she drew attention to misogynist texts in rap via Instagram. He also reportedly put a $2,000 bounty on her head. As a result, Fler insulted comedian Shahak Shapira, who defended the woman. Shapira then shared a voice message from Fler on Twitter.

When a television crew wanted to confront the rapper while he was shopping on Berlin’s Ku’damm, Fler apparently attacked and insulted her. He is also said to have stolen parts of the camera. The total amount of damages amounts to 19,000 euros. Fler now said in court that he only attacked the cameraman because he felt threatened. He also wanted to prevent his girlfriend, with whom he was traveling at the time, from being filmed as well. In the future, however, Fler would like to “avoid confrontations.”

Losensky was sentenced to a total of one year and six months suspended sentence if he confesses. According to dpa, this also includes a conviction from March 2021, for which the rapper received ten months’ probation.
