Flemming sometimes doesn’t believe his own success: ‘What’s happening to me here?’

Singer Flemming Viguurs sometimes can’t believe that he has been scoring hit after hit for over a year. In a short time he has conquered his place in the Dutch pop scene. “I actually have to pinch myself every day,” says the 26-year-old Vughtenaar to the ANP. “Then I think: what is happening to me here? It is bizarre.”

The singer’s debut album, simply titled Flemminghas been bivouacking for weeks in the top ten of the album chart.

He likes to see that after his first hit singles he also manages to score with a record. “It’s great to see it going so well,” he says. Flemming likes the profession as a pop singer particularly well. “It’s really fun. Every day is something fun and every week there’s another party. I’m just very happy that it’s all going so well and I hope we can continue this nicely in the coming years.”

Paracetamol has been in the Top 40 for thirteen weeks.

Flemming broke through at the end of 2021 with the hit Amsterdam. This was followed by top 10 quotations for She Wants Me, Automatically and currently Paracetamol. Flemming also wants to participate fully in the charts this year. The singer already has ‘a few singles’ ready. His second album will probably follow in 2024. “We just hope to stay in the spotlight and join the rest.”

Flemming cannot say much about his new album yet. “It is somewhere in the pipeline. We are already busy speculating and looking at what fits together. It will remain Dutch-language pop. Never change a winning team,” he concludes with a laugh.

Last year, Omroep Brabant spoke to Flemming during a performance at Paaspop. “I would like a career like Ed Sheeran.”
