Flemming gives Fortuna Sittard an important victory at FC Twente

FC Twente should almost certainly forget the third place in the Eredivisie. The club from Enschede lost the home match against Fortuna Sittard (1-2). Zian Flemming was the big man among the visitors, scoring twice.

FC Twente, which is classified fourth, has 5 points less than Feyenoord with two games to go. The current number 3 of the Eredivisie has also played one game less. Feyenoord will receive PSV in a sold-out Kuip on Sunday. Fortuna Sittard celebrated an important victory in the fight against relegation and for the time being has 6 points more than PEC Zwolle, Sparta Rotterdam and Willem II. Those three clubs will still be in action on Saturday.

Flemming opened the scoring in the 25th minute, on a pass from Ivo Pinto. Ricky van Wolfswinkel equalized in the 37th minute. The FC Twente striker had already shot at the bar just before his goal. Just before half time, Flemming scored again with a beautifully taken free kick.

FC Twente insisted after the break. But Fortuna Sittard stayed upright with great difficulty. No less than six players of the visitors received a yellow card. FC Twente also lost 2 points in the match against Heracles Almelo (1-1) last week.
