Flemish Parliament approves framework for distance learning in secondary education

On Wednesday, the Flemish Parliament approved the framework that structurally anchors distance learning or hybrid education in secondary education. In that context, an upper limit has also been set for the share of distance learning. For the first degree, this concerns a maximum of 20 percent of the time, for the second degree a maximum of 30 percent and for the third degree a maximum of 40 percent. According to Minister of Education Ben Weyts (N-VA), schools must provide guarantees for vulnerable children. They must always have the right to receive education at school.
