Two bands covered the same song by The Strokes at different shows in New York over the weekend: At the “Baby’s All Right” festival, Blood Orange aka Dev Hynes played “Under Control” from the second Strokes album ROOM ON FIRE from 2003. At their Headlining set at Forest Hills Stadium, the Fleet Foxes did the same. Watch video clips of it here.
The current album by The Strokes from New York is called THE NEW ABNORMAL and was released in 2020. They performed at this year’s “Tempelhof Sounds” festival in Berlin, among other places. A few weeks later, singer Julian Casablancas was criticized for his performance at the Roskilde Festival.
