Flatspringer suddenly wants to tell the truth after a demand of 20 years

The so-called flatspringer Azzedine A., who was convicted for the murder of Soufian Zouagh (25) in Breda, made a new statement at the court in Den Bosch on Monday. He must prove his innocence on appeal.

Zouagh’s body was found on January 9, 2018 after police went after two men who ignored a stop sign. Anel B. and Azzedine A. fled into Zouagh’s flat. When the police also stepped in not much later, the two of them jumped from the balcony. Police then found the lifeless body on the couch.

B. and A. both received twenty years in prison. B. withdrew his appeal, because he was afraid that he would have to stay in prison longer due to the new rules.

‘I am done’
Immediately after the sentence of another twenty years, A. jumped up and said: “I’m done with it. Anel was in that car. I have nothing to do with it.”

With the new statement, Azzedine accuses his co-defendant of the murder, while he even kept it out of the wind on Monday morning. The two had been hanging out and eating dinner at Zouagh’s home the night of the murder. Then they left.

burglar’s path
On Monday morning, Azzedine said that Anel and he were going on a burglary path together, after seeing two men driving in Soufian’s car. They ordered the car to stop, took over the car and returned it to Soufian. There they would both have been surprised when they saw the corpse.

Immediately after the attorney general imposed a sentence of twenty years, the emotional A. jumped up. He said that B. was not at all on the crooks’ path, but that B. was the one he saw in Soufian’s car, along with ‘the other one’.

Suspension
Immediately after A.’s outburst, his lawyer asked to suspend the case for consultation. The hearing continues on Monday afternoon.
