The football player whose full name is William Silva de Carvalho was born on 7 April 1992 in Luanda, Angola.
Carvalho, who started football in the infrastructure of Cd Mira Sintra, also played in the infrastructures of USC Mira Sintra and Sporting Lisbon.
The 30-year-old halfback signed a professional contract with Sporting Lisbon in 2011.
