Flanders wants to accelerate the phasing out of natural gas by introducing the ban on natural gas connections a year earlier, in particular in 2025 instead of 2026. This is stated in a draft decree by majority parties N-VA, CD&V and Open Vld that was approved on Wednesday in the Energy Commission. The aim is to “take a realistic accelerated step towards defossilization”.
