A big barn fire last night in Krommenie: around half past one the flames shot high out of the roof of a shed on the Esdoornlaan. The occupant of the adjacent house has been arrested by the police. It is suspected that the resident started the fire himself.
The damage to the shed is considerable: there is little left of it.
A police spokesman said no one was injured in the fire. “We have arrested the resident because there is a suspicion of arson,” she says. “That suspicion is based on past behavior.”
Police will also be seen around the house and barn during the day. “Today it is being assessed whether there is any damage to surrounding barns and the forensic investigation is investigating.”
