Flag bearer Fleig wins silver in biathlon

Zhangjiakou (dpa) – The German flag bearer Martin Fleig won his first medal at the Paralympics in Beijing. The 32-year-old finished second in the sitting class in the 10-kilometer biathlon with two shooting errors.

At the finish, the man from Freiburg was 46 seconds behind the winner Liu Mengtao from China. The Ukrainian Taras Rad finished third. In his first race in China on Saturday, Fleig finished fifth over six kilometers.
