Officially
After tough negotiations between the clubs involved, it’s now official: Marius Bülter is leaving FC Schalke 04 and joining TSG 1899 Hoffenheim with immediate effect. The 30-year-old attacker remains in the Bundesliga after relegation with the “Knappen”.
“Everyone at the club was enthusiastic about the idea of bringing Marius to TSG. We are not only convinced of his footballing qualities, which he has not least demonstrated sufficiently in the past season, but also of the person. Marius combines many qualities that we value particularly after what has been an instructive season for us: speed, greed, mentality, physical presence and goal risk,” explained TSG Managing Director Alexander Rosen.
“After quite intensive negotiations and numerous discussions, we are pleased that we have now been able to realize the transfer. Marius has waived a contractually agreed share of the transfer fee and has thus made a decisive contribution to the success of his move. That shows his character and underpins his absolute desire to play for TSG,” Rosen continued.
Hoffenheim’s new signing Bülter said: “I would like to thank everyone who helped to implement the transfer and enabled me to now fully concentrate on football and a new, exciting task. After the first conversation with the TSG managers, it was clear to me where the journey should go. I felt very valued from the first minute and now I want to give the club back the trust they had in me on the pitch.”
