Fix: Rangers sign Liverpool defender Ben Davies

Central defender Ben Davies is the sixth new signing at Glasgow Rangers (to the transfer overview). The 26-year-old, who last spent a year on loan at English second division club Sheffield United, has signed a contract with the Scottish champions that runs until 2026.

Davies joined Anfield from Preston North End in February 2021 and has not played a single competitive game for the Reds since then. For Sheffield, the left foot made 22 appearances and one goal in the Championship last season. “I’m very excited to join Rangers and I’m really looking forward to taking this next step in my career. It’s a huge club with big ambitions and I can’t wait to get started,” the defender said of his move.

Rangers coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst added: “I would like to welcome Ben to our squad and I am delighted that he has joined the club. He’s a strong defender with great qualities and will continue to expand our options in that area.”
