The looks from the streets of Copenhagen often give a good sense of what might be trending in the upcoming autumn-winter season. During the fashion week, the street scene in the rainy Danish capital was characterized by wide silhouettes made of long coats and baggy pants, brightly colored accessories created a good mood.
The return of the baggy pants
They were an integral part of the street scene in the 1990s and early 2000s, but now the garment that came into fashion with hip-hop music is experiencing a revival. Only the baggy pants are no longer worn quite so low, but sit almost waist-high with some.
The materials used in the trousers have also been translated into the present day – in addition to classic denim fabrics, technical fabrics and wool are also used, so the looks vary accordingly from streetwear to sporty-inspired to elegant.
coats long and wide
Many of Copenhagen Fashion Week’s guests enhanced the baggy silhouettes of their trousers with bulky coats. From the classic trench to coats made of lambskin, faux fur, patchwork or psychedelic, technical outer fabrics – the main thing was ‘oversize’.
power pink
This trend – or almost a statement – already showed through in the outfits from the above topics. The color pink and its wearers have said goodbye to the image of the good girl. Whether as a feel-good accessory or as a full-body cover, women in the streets of Copenhagen set cheeky and cheerful accents with the strong color.
Tone on tone on tone
Some prefer to stick to muted colors when choosing their wardrobe. They instead used the absence of distracting hues to play with the combination of structure, texture and volume in their garments.
For example, a black tailoring ensemble consisting of a blazer and suit trousers is combined with a voluminous, light down jacket and platform shoes. In another outfit, the quilted pattern of a beige two-piece suit appears on the filigree cut-out pattern of white high heels.
Splash of color accessories
Not only the color pink can set accents, but also bags, shoes and scarves in intermediate colors like neon yellow and neon green. The concept of accessories as pops of color works well with toned-down outfits. But Copenhagen Fashion Week attendees didn’t shy away from color-blocking their outfits either, like an orange hat paired with a bright pink two-piece suit.
