Sometimes the originality of a film alone provides a great kick. Especially at a time when cinemas are dominated by sequels, prequels, remakes and reboots (almost all within the superhero genre). Turning Red, now on streaming service Disney+, fuses the horror of adolescence with the conventions of a classic monster movie. Something like this can only come out of Pixar’s animation studio.
