Five Luxembourgs U21 players in the hospital after bus accident

The U21 footballers of Luxembourg should play against France on Friday. However, there was a bus accident with injuries.
The U21 national team of Luxembourg was involved in a traffic accident on the way to an international match in France. Five players suffered injuries. As the Football Association Luxembourg (FLF) announced on Thursday evening, the accident in the northwest of France occurred in the Brittany region. According to the association, the driver of the bus felt uncomfortable what led to the accident.
In addition to the players, the team also had the team’s supervisors on board. Five of the young national players were brought to surrounding hospitals as a precaution. The association made no further information about the severity of the injuries.
The Luxembourg U21 is currently in qualification for the U21 European Championship 2027. The team is considered an outsider. The game against France is scheduled to kick off on Friday at 6.30 p.m. in the Breton Lorient.
It is still unclear whether the game can take place as planned as planned. The European Football Union UEFA was asked to comment.
