The seven people were shot around 10 p.m. while barbecuing in front of a house. The bullets were fired from a passing car. Chief Agent William McManus made the announcement during a press conference.
According to McManus, between 20 and 30 shots were fired from the car. Two of the victims were killed instantly, five others were taken to hospital with serious injuries. McManus says the shooting could have been even worse: six children had just entered and managed to stay out of harm’s way. They were not injured.
The motive for the shooting is not yet known and the police are investigating the matter.
