Union Berlin coach Urs Fischer also reacts to the sporting crisis with humor.

After the 1-0 defeat at 1. FC Heidenheim on Saturday, Fischer first sent greetings to his coaching colleague Frank Schmidt, who was sitting next to him and who had given him his biography: “Thank you again for your book with a personal dedication. I’ll try to read this as soon as possible. Maybe there’s a tip on how we can get out of this situation,” said Fischer with a wink.

The 0-1 was the fifth defeat in a row for the Köpenick team, who had never gone five games without a win in over five years under the Swiss.

Before the games against Sporting Braga on Tuesday (6.45 p.m.) and at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday (3.30 p.m.), Union is under increased pressure to succeed.

“Every defeat hurts. It’s important to get a sense of success again. It is the accusation that we have to put up with. You have to score a goal, in the end goals decide,” said Fischer before the groundbreaking double before the international break. The Union must now “start rewarding itself as quickly as possible”.
