Fischer deletes two newcomers for the Europa League

Thursday (6.45 p.m.) Union starts in the Europa League. Royale Union Saint-Gilloise/Belgium is coming to the Alte Försterei. UEFA has now published the club entry lists on its website. And there were some prominent prank victims at Union.

In the Iron squad there are only 24 instead of the possible 25 professionals.

UEFA stipulates that four of the listed “local players” must have been trained by their own youth. If a club does not meet these requirements, the squad list will be reduced by the corresponding number.

At Union, the talents are Yannic Stein (17), Tim Maciejewski (21) and Aljoscha Kemlein (18). The youngsters have no chance in Bundesliga matches, but they have to be on the Euro list. Consequence: Numerous experienced professionals could not be registered for the European Cup.

With Paul Seguin (27 / Fürth) and Milos Pantovic (26 / Bochum) it even affects two newcomers. Levin Öztunali (26) and Kevin Möhwald (29) were also eliminated.

All four have one thing in common: they prefer to play in the 8-position.

The third goalkeeper Jakob Busk (28) and defender Timo Baumgartl (26), who is in rehabilitation training after being diagnosed with testicular cancer, are also missing.

This is the one announced by UEFA Union squad for the group stage.
