Coach Urs Fischer from 1. FC Union Berlin heavily criticized the “non-performance” of his players in the 2-0 loss against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
“That does not work like this. “You can’t waste 45 minutes in the Bundesliga,” complained the coach after the fourth competitive defeat in a row. “I’d rather not say much more. “I’m a bit pissed off,” the 57-year-old continued to report in his usual calm Swiss manner.
Fischer appealed to his players to endure “such a phase” of four defeats. “It’s important to come out as a whole. When you talk about development, you sometimes have to take two steps back in order to be able to move forward again.”
The Union coach’s performance in the second half gives the Union coach hope – even if the Berliners were unable to capitalize on any of their big chances. “I was loud. I think the words came across,” said Fischer about his cabin speech.
