“I’m looking forward to the draw with you,” said Urs Fischer in Glasner’s direction after 1. FC Union Berlin’s 2-0 victory in the Bundesliga over the Europa League semi-finalists from Main.
Glasner asked again in conversation, and Fischer repeated his anticipation. There was time for clarification: The opponent in the semi-finals of the Europa League was already certain with West Ham United, said Glasner. The pairings of the quarterfinals and semifinals were drawn on March 18th. “Oh, that’s for sure,” Fischer replied. “I didn’t get that.”
