The Italian Thomas Ceccon set the first world record at the swimming world championships in Budapest.
The backstroke swimmer clocked 51.60 seconds in the 100m final, beating Ryan Murphy’s six-year-old record by 25-hundredths of a second.
Silver went to Murphy ahead of fellow countryman Hunter Armstrong.
