Rome (AP) – With the first win since January 2021, the Swiss tennis pro Stan Wawrinka has reached the second round at the Masters 1000 tournament in Rome.
The 37-year-old won his opening match against the American Reilly Opelka 3: 6, 7: 5, 6: 2. Wawrinka had to take a break from March last year due to a complicated foot injury and only returned to the ATP tour at the beginning of April at the tournament in Monte Carlo. However, he failed right at the start.
