The polling station members at the Meppel station reported as early as 6 a.m. Roy Telman and Wijnand Visser hope for a holiday for democracy.
Reporter Steven Ophoff took a look shortly after they took office. “There is room for two voting booths. There are quite a lot of people around me, it already is proliferate with space.” Polling station member Visser can now report that 37 voters have passed. “And the 38th is already waiting.”
The polling station at the station will remain open until 8 p.m., says Visser. Until then, he can grow the necessary sitting meat. “But we still have a few hours free at lunchtime, then replacements will come for us.”
In the evenings he reports again for the last minutevoters, after which vote counting will begin. “We will continue until it is ready. It often involves between three and four hundred voters,” he puts things into perspective.
