Scary moment for Carlos Santana. During his show on Tuesday (July 5, 2022), the musician collapsed on stage at Detroit’s Pine Knob Music Theater.

After that, photos and information about the incident spread on social media. However, it was unclear in the meantime what condition Santana was in. Until finally a representative of the musician declared that the guitarist was fine.

Medical emergency

First, Billboard’s Gary Graff tweeted that Carlos Santana was in treatment. Afterward, Fox2 Detroit’s Roop Raj posted a photo showing Santana being treated medically and wrote:

“Medical staff on stage. The crowd is asked to pray for him because he has a ‘serious’ medical condition,” Graff wrote.

Another update from Graff followed later on Twitter. “Carlos Santana was dragged off stage on a stretcher 20 minutes after collapsing at Pine Knob Music. There are no details about his condition yet. However, he waved during the transport.”

Carlos Santana was apparently suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration. Santana was taken to the emergency room at McLaren Clarkston Hospital for further observation, his representative Michael Vrionis said in a statement. In the meantime, the 74-year-old guitarist is said to be doing well again.
