First students enroll at the Kulak
Merel Soetaert from Deerlijk is the first student to register. “Because Kulak makes the transition less difficult and big for me. I live in Deerlijk. The distance is not that far. It is also nice to be close to home. And also, on the open day I got the impression that it is a very pleasant university with very good supervision.

Together with Merel, some 1500 students will start their education in Kulak in September. And there are quite a few innovations this academic year. Piet Desmet, rector of KULAK: “We have completely reformed the medical program, completely according to the model of Leuven, adapted with a Kulak coaching model. The computer science program has been converted into Artificial Intelligence. The language and literature program, we now have multimedia in it , also film and documentary. And in applied linguistics we added economics.”
In lifelong learning there is also the new master after master Mechatronics, smart operations and maintenance.
