First positive test in Beijing of team member at Winter Games | Sport

It is the first time that a member of an Olympic team has tested positive for corona on arrival in China. On Sunday, five accredited persons for the Winter Games also tested positive. They have also been quarantined.

China announced Monday that a total of 72 people involved in the Games tested positive between January 4 and 22. Anyone who tests positive must immediately be placed in isolation. That isolation ends when the corona-related complaints are over and if the person tests negative twice.

A large part of the Dutch squad for the Winter Games will fly to Beijing on Wednesday. The athletes are regularly tested for the corona virus before departure and daily in China. The Games start on February 4.
