The first Orange fans have arrived in Maastricht for King’s Day.
After two years, the king still visits the provincial capital. King’s Day was supposed to be in Maastricht in 2020, but it was canceled then due to the corona crisis.
Candy
Groups of Orange fans are already lined up along the route that the king is going to take. “I want to have the best spot,” says Oranjefan Oscar on L1 Radio. He brought candy for the king. “If the king doesn’t take it, we can still try it with the princess and the queen.”
briefing
1200 agents are present in Maastricht to ensure that everything runs smoothly. In the MECC in Maastricht, the agents received a briefing early this morning. The German police also comes to the aid of the agents in Maastricht.
The royal family is expected around 11:00 am. The program lasts about two hours, but the party then continues in the provincial capital. Rowwen Hèze will perform a specially composed song at the Vrijthof. Violinist André Rieu also performs. The visit of Willem-Alexander and his family can be followed live at L1.
