In large parts of the country it is even warmer, with tropical temperatures of 30 degrees or slightly more in many places. The highest temperature so far has been measured in the Zeeland village of Westdorpe: 33.6 degrees.

Last year, the temperature rose to above 30 degrees for the first time in De Bilt on June 17, and in 2020 the mercury rose to tropical values ​​on June 26. According to the climatic period 1991-2020, the first official tropical day is on June 29.

The first 30 degrees in De Bilt is therefore later than usual. Locally it came to a tropical day earlier. On May 18, 2022, the mercury in Limburg Arcen rose to 30.2 degrees.

On average, De Bilt has five tropical days a year. Last year it stayed with that one tropical day on June 17. In 2020, De Bilt recorded a total of twelve tropical days and in 2019 it came to eleven days with a maximum temperature of at least 30 degrees.

The year with the most official tropical days in De Bilt was 1976, when fourteen were recorded. In 2006 there were thirteen.
