Very strong! Had the name Maina on my radar for a while. I’m not familiar with the exact details, the reasons, etc., because I just don’t follow H96 enough or at all, but I was wondering last summer why there wasn’t a change already. So now he’s playing in the premier league and then also internationally. Congratulations on the transfer, hopefully he does his job.
Maina’s problem is himself.
He’s constantly injured, it’s been reported by 96 fans that, like Bazee back then, he frequents MCdonalds and such places too often.
Maina can run fast, sometimes he has a flash of inspiration on the field but often he falls into self-doubt, has his head and shoulders down and fights a lot with himself.
His weaknesses are the passing game and often the ball processing. You don’t have to hope for flanks and he rarely called up his strengths with us. Unfortunately, speed is not everything. I don’t think he’ll play as many minutes because he’s also not dangerous enough to score. Working defensively is not one of his favorite tasks. When he played on the wings, the full-back was often left alone in the last 2-3 years.
If he calls on his weaknesses and concentrates on his strengths, then he can hope for a few Bundesliga appearances. As long as he stays healthy.
