The first frost of this autumn has been measured locally. Buienradar reports that at the weather station in Eelde the temperature dropped to -0.1 degree this evening at 6.40 pm.
It is the first time since May 6 that it has frozen again. Since August, the temperature on the ground has occasionally dropped below zero, but not yet at the normal observation height of 1.5 meters.
Buienradar reports that this year the first frost after summer is exceptionally late. On average, this happens on October 21st.
“It will remain quite cold in the coming days and it may freeze slightly here and there during the nights,” the weather site reports. “Only if this also happens in De Bilt will there be the first official monarch in our country.”
